The Tupajumi foundation promotes contemporary art and contemporary artists by organising art-related events and group exhibitions in innovative and resourceful ways . The network started in 2002 and continued as foundation in 2004. It offers artists new opportunities, resources and markets in order to expand their network. With the growing support of artists and friends Tupajumi organizes group exhibitions and art related events internationally at key locations within local art scenes.

 

Tupajumi started in 2002 as an artist-network and was setup by Jonathan den Breejen, Robert Chaplin (CDN) & Ilpo Jääskeläinen (FI) (2004-2009). In 2009 Tupajumi became a foundation.

Tupajumi foundation is also known as Stichting Tupajumi.
The Tupajumi foundation was established on the 14th of October 2009 in the city of Enschede and is currently registered under the number  08208409 at the Chamber of Commerce in Rotterdam.

Since 01-01-2012 the Tupajumi foundation received the ANBI status by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (de Belastingdienst). In short : the Tupajumi foundation is a Public Benefit Organisation ( in Dutch: Algemeen nut beogende instelling (ANBI)). An organisation can only have the ANBI status if it’s organisation’s efforts are almost entirely committed to the public benefit. read more (currently mostly in Dutch)
